NON-PROFITS

For the past five years, I have served on the Board of EnrichLA, a non-profit with a mission to build a sustainable garden or green space in every Los Angeles school.

GRANTS

I have written several successful grants for local Title I schools for gardens, computers, and other projects. The grants that I wrote for Glenfeliz Elementary School became the foundation for the first LAUSD School for Advanced Studies program in Gardening & Culinary Arts. My writing from those grants is still used on promotional merchandise and on the website for the school.

Animal non-profits

I love animals and have been a longtime advocate for their care. I wrote grants for our local animal rescue group, including raising funds to help spay and neuter stray animals. I also hosted bake sales to support cat rescue Sante d’Or, including a benefit featuring cookies designed after artist Leo Limon’s historic L.A. River cats. SPCA contracted me to come up with a cheeky campaign to help encourage pet owners to spay and neuter their pets.
